And what could be more British than the much-loved TV comedy series “Dad’s Army”? It based on the real-life Home Guard. recruited in various parts of Great Britain to hamper and delay invasion by our World Wat II enemies? Volunteers would gather on a weekday afternoon for a drill parade and to conduct defensive exercises against the imagined enemy.
