I’m interested in this collection because the Communes Magazine changed my life in 1971-2.
My wife & I and two young children visited a number of people who wrote to the mag, including the following:
Holly and Steve in Hinderwell, North Yorkshire
Patty and Erik Dorman in Bletchley
The First of May, South-East London
Crow Hall, Downham Market, where we stayed for 6 months in ’71-72
… after which we left to join a guru cult, the Divine Light Mission.
That was long ago. Now in my eighties I’m planning to write a memoir of these experiences, which would be enhanced by referring to these stepping-stones to an adventurous life, happily survived 53 years later.
I’d be grateful if you could check the above. I seem to recall having acquired to no more than two issues of the mag. I’d be happy to buy those issues alone, and return them after gleaning the relevant information, so that you’d have the complete set for another buyer.
