English Pancakes

special pan for the purpose, spreads heat evenly
mixture has to be right consistency
a good one. it’s just been flipped
melt some butter and spread it over hot pan with a soft silicone spatula
serve with sugar and freshly squeezed lemon
this one was left too long, so I had to eat it. Crunchy
American pancakes with blueberries & maple syrup. Not the same at all

Ingredients to make 4 skinny 10-inch pancakes:

  • a blender
  • an egg
  • 2/3 cup of milk
  • tablespoon of plain flour
  • pinch of salt

Serve them with juice from a fresh lemon and white sugar.

to make:

  • break egg into blender,
  • add milk, flour, pinch of salt;
  • blend for half a minute,
  • check the mixture is frothy;
  • pour a third of the mixture back into the cup,
  • then …

    1. very wise. I’ve done it in the past, but there are two pitfalls: i) when you don’t catch the whole disc and cut it in two, and ii) when part of the underside is stuck to the pan.

      So, for the less skilled. flip it with a spatula
