I’ve become 95% bedridden! There’s a number of reasons and some remaining issues, which keep the NHS doctors very concerned as to my full condition. The basic one is this. All my life I’ve had a slight spinal curvature, not like that of Richard III’s hunchback as portrayed in Shakespeare; but in the lower spine. Now that there’s not an ounce of fat in my body due to immobility and and failure to eat, which is another story.

  2. Thank you! It’s been a while since I’ve heard from you. I should have you on my list to follow but my old computer had a fatal crash. A wonderful fellow, Simon Brereton of this parish, restored most of it with a magic box.

  5. I’m in very good hands. It’s a fully equipped nursing home with one patient and daytime nursing care. She doesn’t take kindly to being disturbed in the night. So I’ve become self sufficient there with a small focussable flashlight, books and all mod cons nearby next to the bedroom.

  7. Thank you for your good wishes DA-Al 🙂. Various things are being done in the next few days:
    . a blood test
    . a CT scan at local hospital
    . a physiotherapist to check out our house to see what can be done to make things easier, e.g. removal of the bath and turning into a wet room with suitable rails to hold on to whilst having a shower; and more such as a dietician to find wasys of eating more …

    1. Thanks Brian it’s 8 in the morning here and i see it’s July 4th.

      I was trying to remember the tune of the star-spangled banner and the only way I could do it as a distant Englishman was to remember the Jimi Hendrix version at Woodstock.

      I am confident that on this site we are all anti-war?

  9. I accidentally deleted someone’s good wishes. Sorry! Here’s my reply anyway, Nearly a year after spinal surgery, I’m walking several miles a day with the aid of My RoadRunner supplied free by the NHS. I;m too bent to walk far without support. With this, I can often overtake young fit people. Beep-Beep!
