Driving again

I stopped driving three years ago, started to feel frightened of hitting other vehicles, or worse. Even in daylight. Carefully made my last journey up the hill to WeBuyAnyCar, was amazed to get back nearly half of what I paid for it new ten years earlier. (v. low mileage full, maintenance history—plus inflation?)

But I’m back now, not on the road, but sidewalks, Eden shopping mall & shops themselves.

Apparently I’ve had osteoarthritis for quite a while but the pain only got severe a few days ago, so I was given an appointment physiotherapist Maddie. Would normally walk but had to take a taxi to the hospital. She made the diagnosis quickly, advised me to buy a walking-stick asap, and gave me a set of exercises.

got this handsome stick for £8.99 from Amazon Prime, arrived next day

not the High Wycombe branch, but shows the range of electric vehicles available
permitted to drive anywhere on this map

So now I can get out of the house, catch a bus and walk to the wonderful ShopMobility, where I can hire a buggy free of charge for as long as they’re open, and travel around town to anywhere on this map.

This is such a kind country, and our local National Health Service has never  let us down. And there are plenty of charities to help the needy and afflicted
